1.Patient Background
Species: Canine Gender: Male Age: 4 months old Disease: Distal Humerus Fracture
Xinghen is a 4-month-old puppy. While playing at home, his owner suddenly noticed something wrong with his hind legs and rushed him to the hospital. Examination revealed that Xinghen had a distal humerus fracture. After surgery, the veterinarian recommended moxibustion, infrared therapy, and our class 4 laser therapy to relieve pain and accelerate wound healing. Xinghen was discharged after five days in the hospital and has now fully recovered.
2. Chief Complaint
Xinghen's distal humerus fracture was caused by a fall while playing. 4-month-old puppies are in the development stage of coordination and bone strength, so they are more susceptible to injuries from slips, falls, or collisions with furniture or other pets.
3. Treatment Plan
Treatment plan combines traditional and modern therapies. Moxibustion and infrared therapy were used to improve blood circulation and reduce inflammation; and class 4 laser irradiation for 5 consecutive days relieved pain, inflammation, and accelerated wound healing.
4. Conclusion
Laser therapy played a key role in Xinghen's recovery. It effectively relieved pain by reducing inflammation and promoting the release of natural analgesics such as endorphins. In addition, laser therapy accelerated wound healing by stimulating cell regeneration and enhancing blood flow to the affected area. This structured treatment plan that combined immediate and continuous laser treatment played a significant role in Xinghen's rapid discharge and complete recovery.
